We know that choosing a location of your session is equally as important as all other elements, so I've made a list. Here are some of our favorite places to shoot in Houma and Thibodaux, along with other popular locations. Some locations require a fee to shoot there, so when looking be sure to check that out! Locations more than 30 miles away require a travel fee based on mileage.
Ardoyne Plantation - This is an absolute favorite of ours and we highly recommend. Evening light is our favorite!
Downtown Houma - Free to shoot, and offerers several colors, textures, and objects to work with.
Houma Marina - Park meets waterfront here, with beautiful landscaping and great details, like a picturesque bridge.
Houma Travel Center - With a Wooded Park next door, Louisnana accents, and giant white shrimp boots this makes a great place for family photos! Laurel Valley Plantation Store - A small area that offers A LOT.
Dansereau House - An amazing Bed and Breakfast with stunning grounds for photos.
Fairfax House - Located in Franklin, this adorable house has beautiful oaks and an adorable balcony for some stunning photos.
Jungle Gardens - Located on Avery Island and New Iberia, this is A huge location with tons of local flowers and wildlife, there's ALWAYS something to make an amazing photo here.
Rip Van Winkle Gardens - One of my favorite locations, and it's not just for the stunning peacocks that roam the grounds. There's paths all over with colorful flowers.
UL Alumni Gardens - Located IN Lafayette.
Acadian Village - Located in Lafayette, I've been here but haven't shot here yet, though it's something I'd LOVE to do. It's so charming and there are wild flowers and plants everywhere.
